“A real home away from home!”

Traveling with my children (8 and 10) and my spouse, we found the apartment to be perfectly located. The beds and sheets are comfortable, everything is clean and all the amenities are available to feel just like home. I would highly recommend this rental if you are in the Loire region to visit castles.

“Excellent Property and Well Located”

The apartment was as advertised and very well appointed. The kitchen was a favorite as we ate in for our breakfast and evening meals. The stove cook-top uses induction heating a first for us and excellent, very quick to heat. We traveled by automobile just about every day to other towns and the parking garage nearby was quite convenient as was highway access. Overall an excellent stay.

“Exceptional accommodation in a great location!”

We were really impressed with the layout, the furnishing and the finish of this apartment. Kitchen very well equipped, comfortable living area and wonderful bathrooms and bedrooms. We also appreciated that the bedrooms were on opposite ends of the apartment which gave much more privacy. The location is really great. Dozens of outdoor restaurants and bars within a couple of minutes; handy to pick up a baguette or croissants in the morning. We really enjoyed the people watching. Tours is very central to so many interesting spots to visit. We were glad that we had made this our headquarters for our Loire visit. We would certainly recommend this apartment and we hope you enjoy yourselves as much as we did.

“Absolutely Awesome Apartment”

My husband and myself stayed at Fabrice & Frederique's apartment for 1 week over the course of our daughter's wedding to a young Frenchman she met while studying in Tours. The apartment exceeded all our expectations, to say the least! We visited Tours in 2009 and when the wedding was planned we knew we wanted to stay in the Place Plumereau area. We were thrilled to find the apartment was only about 1 block from the heart of Place Plumereau rather than the 2-3 we thought it was by the map of the area! Location, location, location... with none of the noise you might expect. We hosted get-togethers with both the French and Canadian guests/family and all wondered if we had secretly won the lottery! Absolutely beautiful, with all the amenities you could want. Both owners and the housekeeper were very helpful the one time we contacted them during our stay. We were only about a 15 min walk to Cathedral St. Gatien, 10 min tram ride to downtown Tours, 20 min drive to Amboise, 30 min to Chateau Villandry and some wineries. Absolutely perfect. We would definitely recommend this to friends and relatives... indeed our daughter and her new husband would love to stay here whenever they come back to Tours!

“What a wonderful week!”

What a wonderful week we have spent in your beautiful country and very special apartment. You have paid attention to every details, the artistic decor, the comfort of the furnitures, well appointed kitchen and very modern baths. "Les Carmes" truly became a wonderful home away from home.

“Charming, spacious and comfortable”

Fabrice and Frederique, the delightful owners of the apartment were extremely friendly and helpful. Fabrice collected us from the train station and transported the 4 of us, and our luggage, to the apartment which is situated in the original medieval sector of the historic city of Tours. Metres away from Place Plumereau which is packed with a host of reasonably priced restaurants, surrounded by timber framed multi story biuldings. The apartment was well equipped, great bathrooms and fully equipped kitchen, dining area and comfortable sofas decorated in a traditional French style. An extensive library of tourist and reading material was available as was the free wifi. Always only a phone call away, Fabrice and Frederique were only too happy to help with any enquiries. Located centrally for road access to all of the Loire valley's Chateau's from Angers to the west to Blois in the East. We even managed a trip to Le Mans to visit the motor museum and the cathedral which is full of Plantagenet history. The apartment was only 100 metres from the new tram in Tours which gave quick access to the shopping precinct. I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the Loire.

“Brilliant apartment and location. Recommend highly”

We recently stayed at the apartment for 13 weeks while studying French at a nearby language school. We wanted a home away from home and were lucky enough to find this apartment. It's located on the first floor of a 19th century mansion and looks out onto quiet Place de Carmes. We had no problems with noise from other tenants in the building. The apartment has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms separated by a generously sized dining and living area which has large french doors providing wonderful light and views. The modern kitchen allows for daily meal preparation. Fabrice and Frederique (owners) have renovated and furnished the apartment to provide a stylish and comfortable living space which is ideal for a family, 2 couples or a group of friends. The location of the apartment is brilliant. It is situated in the old historic part of Tours, a minutes walk to Place Plumereau which is a fantastic large square surrounded by cafe's and restaurants. The apartment is close to a medium size supermarket (Carrefour) and Les Halles, an undercover market where there is fantastic local cheeses, wines, meats, seafood, fruit and vegetables, breads and pastries. The outdoor farmers market is also there two mornings a week. Lots of fun. 5 mins by foot is Rue Nationale, the main shopping street in Tours with the tram line - very convenient. The Loire River is a 2 minute walk from the apartment. 15 minute walk to the train station where trains leave for destinations throughout the Loire valley. The apartment is an ideal base from which to explore the Loire. Fabrice and Frederique are great to deal with and make the booking process so easy. Highly recommended.

“Attention to detail and excellent presentation make this a very comfortable apartment.”

Having been terribly delayed by the storms, we really appreciated the considerate way in which new arrangements were made for us to collect the key. In fact, Fabrice and Frederique are fantastically efficient and very keen to do things well. The apartment is stylish, comfortable, well equipped and warm. Its proximity to the old town is a real advantage and allows you to do everything on foot. A great place to stay. A little noise from the square on Saturday night is a price worth paying for this excellent apartment.

“Great time in Touraine”

Larry and I had one of the best holidays ever in your wonderful apartment! I have already recommended it to a number of my friends and colleagues as a great place to stay. The location is perfect close to the train station, shopping and restaurants. The apartment is light-filled, well-appointed, and comfortable. The brochures in the bookcase were helpful in doing some of our planning. For people who might wish a place to find easy-to-prepare meals, we would recommend the grocery section of the Monoprix. Thank you again for your hospitality and many thanks to your mother for being there to welcome us.

“Superb!”

We stayed in this apartment with 2 young adults. Wonderful apartment, tastefully decorated and fully kitted out. The standard of furnishings and fittings at least equal that found in any hotel. The layout is ideal - everyone has privacy and a large common area to sit, chat, eat and enjoy a glass of wine. We were warmly welcomed by Helene who was also kind enough to take us to the train station on the morning of our departure. For the foodies amongst you, it is also within easy walking distance of Les Halles. The apartment is ideally situated, next to Place Plumerau with a huge range of bars and restaurants nearby. It sits in the old part of Tours - the surrounding architecture is a pleasure in itself. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. We will certainly go back.

“A charming place to stay”

This appartment in the old part of Tours offers you an old but with new furnishing place to stay with all the comfort you could wish for. A little noisy at weekend but otherwise in a very quiet quaint square. No need for a car as everything is at walking distance. Beautiful shops and restaurants within a very short distance. A very pleasant stay.

“Perfect location to visit Loire Valley”

What a wonderful place for a family to stay and visit the Loire valley. The kids had their own room which allowed us to keep the living/dining room neat. The apartment is so well designed and furnished. If you want to cook at the apartment, there are several markets close by to purchase food. You can also walk to wonderful restaurants and boulangeries. We enjoyed walking to the river and listening to live music at an outdoor "beer garden" while the kids played at the playground. We had a car and found it easy to get on the road quickly to visit the castles. Tours is an excellent location in the center of the Loire Valley making it easy to visit castles in any direction. We loved working with the owners. They provided tons of information re activities and restaurants. They made sure that we weren't lacking anything. We felt like family rather than customers. My husband and son loved visiting the tank museum in Saumur (Musee des blindees). My favorite castle was Chaumont-sur-Loire. It is a must for art and garden lovers. We look forward to staying here again soon!

“Our best experience in Europe”

This apartment was absolutely beautiful the only thing that was better than the apartment was the owners Fabrice & Frederique!!!! They went out of there way to make our stay in Tours the best part of our European holiday!!! Not only did they tell us all the best restaurants and sites but also came and found us when we where lost and took us back to the apartment. And when it was time for us to leave and I couldn't order a cab to the train station (as I don't speak french) I rang them to order a cab for me and they came and picked us up and took us to the station!!! You just can't get this type of customer service staying in a hotel. We have stayed in HomeAway apartments before in many countries but this apartment and the owners won us over. If you are going to Tours u MUST STAY HERE!!!!!

“Lovely apartment in historic old town”

The apartment was very comfortable with everything needed for a lovely holiday. The TV, Internet, kitchen appliances etc all worked fine and made for a convenient stay. There are many bars and restaurants within walking distance so very easy to eat and drink, including the picturesque 'Place Plumerau'. The railway station is a 20 minute walk and the TGV train to Paris took just over an hour; there is a car hire office there as well. Frederique met us at the apartment and was so welcoming and friendly, telling us where the local supermarket was and recommending a restaurant. She also very kindly offered us a lift back to the airport as well for our journey home, which we thought was a lovely thing to do.
